Renters or Tenants Insurance

We recommend anyone renting one of our units to consider buying a policy as a good way to protect you and your family from the huge cost of these life changing events.

What Does Renters Insurance Cover?

  • Medical Payments: Coverage for medical costs if a guest is injured on your property.
  • Additional living expenses: If your rental unit becomes unlivable, your renter’s insurance policy will cover the expenses.
  • Personal property damage: If your things are damaged in a covered event, your insurance will cover the cost of the property up to your policy’s limits. A covered event is a damaging event listed in your policy.
  • Personal liability: If someone is injured on your residence, and the event is found to be due to your negligence, your policy will cover the costs of legal liability or you could be sued personally.

Fire Safety

In the event of a fire, you should call 911 and evacuate the building! Your life is worth more than any property. However, if you are going to use a fire extinguisher during the incipient stage (small/slow growing/minimal smoke and heat) follow the PASS method:

Pull: The safety pin needs to be pulled out, don’t push down on the operating lever while pulling the pin, it won’t come out.

Aim: Aim at the base of the fire, the lowest flame closest to you.

Squeeze: The operating lever is above the carrying handle. This lever opens when you squeeze it down. When you let go, the valve closes and discharge stops.

Sweep: Sweep the nozzle back and forth to cover the entire base of the fire.
